Shaped Around Your Project
Birmingham Steel Fabricators brings together information and enquiries for general fabrication, structural steel, sheet metal, bespoke assemblies and welding. Our focus is helping you describe the work accurately so the next discussion starts with useful detail.
We welcome enquiries from contractors, manufacturers, facilities managers and landlords working on commercial, industrial and public-sector premises. A single bracket and a building frame need different levels of design information, but both benefit from a written scope and an agreed drawing.
A Specification Before A Promise
Material grade, dimensions, connections and protective finishes should follow the intended use. For load-bearing work, the responsible engineer must define the design requirements before fabrication is released.
Applicable standards depend on the component. Structural work may need conformity assessment under BS EN 1090-1 and execution requirements under BS EN 1090-2, with certification and supporting records checked for the specific job.
Clear Responsibilities
Engineering, workshop fabrication, delivery and installation are separate parts of a project. Confirm who is responsible for each, including site measurement, temporary support, lifting and final approval.
Workshop and site safety need their own planning, including welding fume controls under COSHH and the relevant construction duties under CDM 2015. See our structural steel guide for technical reading and supply checks.
What Happens To Your Enquiry
With your agreement, your project details may be passed to a suitable local firm to discuss the work. The firm providing a quotation will confirm its own scope, credentials, availability and terms before you decide whether to proceed.
